Prayer
"Where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them...” Jesus.
Prayer is the centre-point of life with God. We therefore endeavour to place it at the heart of our community and meet regularly to pray. Join us on:
-
Mondays in the sanctuary from 7 - 8.30pm. (Term time only)
-
Sundays in the prayer room from 10 - 10.30am.
We also gather on the last Wednesday of each month for our Encounter Evenings (7 - 9pm) - a time to gather in worship, prayer and reflection.
One-to-One Prayer
If you would like to set up a time to pray with someone in person, by phone or video call, then contact us at prayer@thepeopleschurch.org.uk
Personal Prayer
Here is some helpful resource to help deepen your personal prayer life.
1. The Lord’s Prayer is the most famous prayer in history, crafted by Jesus himself. When Jesus’ disciples asked Him to teach them to pray, this simple yet profound prayer was His response. Why not ask Jesus to help you to pray by using this prayer on a daily basis. This guide offers a helpful starting point.
2. We love the Prayer of Examen at The Peoples Church & encourage you to introduce this simple, reflective way of praying into your daily practices. Download Examen and use it on your smartphone.
3. Our friends at 24-7prayer.com are wonderful servants of the church. Anything they have to say about prayer is worth listening to. We especially love Lectio 365 a free devotional resource that helps you pray the Bible every day.
